2020 will be one of the most important and consequential election years of your life. There are so many important issues on the line - do you really want to give up your say in them? Apply for your absentee ballot now - don't wait till October 30th because it'll be too late!
We get it. Voting has never been all that important to us and frankly, many of us believe (wrongly) that it'll just lead to more jury duty (it won't). Some of the more cynical ones among us even believe that their vote ultimately will not matter in the grand scheme of things. Even us at Our Bar ATL vote rarely, if at all, so we can't really lecture you from the high ground.
"...but we're voting now; we're voting this year."
Vote and you immediately join a grand endeavor.
This country - your idea of what your life here should be - is at a tipping point and when you vote, you immediately join a family of millions who are charging in the same direction as you are. You've seen the power of this collective action on the streets this year with Black Lives Matter protests and the passionate marches across the entire country to denounce police brutality. In fact, you might've been a part of those and experienced firsthand just what that can achieve.
As you were protesting, marching, and letting everyone know exactly where you stand - did you not think that made a difference? Vote now and you are simply continuing what you've already started. You are using your mind, your voice, and your very self to create change.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”
Georgia is now a battleground state.
This means both sides have a chance to win, and everything is up for grabs. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. As tens of thousands of your friends, family, and fellow Americans make their voices heard in Georgia, don't be the silent one to sit on the sidelines.
Apply for your absentee ballot here: https://ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov/
The deadline is October 30th, but you MUST apply early to ensure your vote is counted.
Our Bar ATL is running an Absentee Ballot Drive on Tuesday, October 20th, between 2PM and 6PM for those needing help.
“Your voices are being heard and you’re proving to our ancestors that their struggles were not in vain. Now we have one more thing we need to do to walk in our true power, and that is to vote." — Beyoncé
